Sometimes a conversation needs a shared focus: a note, a drawing, a plan, or an activity everyone can take part in.
Carbide Spaces brings realtime conversation together with a shared working surface. People can gather around the same thing, and an invited agent can help within the access it has been given.
The design priority is the work or activity people came to share. On a phone, that means being careful about how much room controls and video tiles take away from the shared activity. When there is little to show, the quality of the call matters on its own.
The platform and its interface have developed through several iterations. The image here is one design study about keeping people visible while attention moves to a shared activity.
